Lake House Restaurant in Morgantown

I have been a patron at the lake house for about 30 years. Our waitress Kimberly was an absolute gem. The owner is a pride in himself. We will be frequenting the lake house many many more times. PS. The food is outstanding. Thanks Grover

Had really great food and a view on the outdoor deck, but was not pleased with the service. The bartender was very rude. Almost would not serve my friend and I because he didn't believe we were 21 even after looking at our licenses. (We are 25) He continued to argue with us for over 5 minutes for no reason. Our wait was about an hour to be seated, which we knew and was no problem, but when we went in to ask a question to the greeter, the bartender came back in to once again yell at us for no reason. That happened about 2 more times. He's very snippy! Lol other than that...everything else was great!

My nephew took us here and wow! Right on Cheat Lake. We ate on the deck with a beautiful view. Most of our party opted for the scallops and said they were perfect. They also loved the risotto that came with it. I tried their risotto and it was very good. Having a little more experience than most I felt it was not the best I've had but very good. I got the tuna steak. They said it was sushi grade so I ordered mine rare. It was not close to rare. 1 pieece was med the other closer to med well. This being said it was still delicious. It should have been cold in the middle with a touch of flame on the outside. It was so good tasting I still went with 5stars. The star of the evening for me was the oysters. Raw sweet tender fresh. A quality dish that I could of had for my meal instead of a app. Try this casual delicious restaurant. Its a great meal.

Wonderful views of the lake. Right beside the marina, so you can rent kayaks or boats before dinner. Lobster bisque is delicious! Fish sandwich is giant (whale something). Crab cake sandwich was mostly meat, little filling, with just the right spices. Loved the beer batter fries too. What a treat to dine here!

Lovely view, great food. We sat outside and enjoyed the deck view. Service was wonderful. The price was reasonable for lunch.

Great location, good service and decent food. Steak, salad and beverage all came out simultaneously. Food quality was fresh and cooked well. Friendly staff and large pours for wine. Probably a better place to drink than to eat.

Slow service, but fantastic food. Definitely try their seafood entrees.

Excellent, but if they're going to advertise their Maryland Style peeled shrimp, they need to cook them correctly: boil beer and old bay, put shrimp in, steam for 3 minutes, drain, sprinkle more old bay on top.

Always friendly staff, clean and great food! Have never been disappointed.

Great Burger

Food was ok at best. DO NOT sit out bbn on the deck when they have a band, it's DEAFENING. The waitresses have to quite literally scream at you, and you at them to give your order. It was quite a horrible experience really. But we did our best to enjoy it with drinks and chatting during band intermission.

I’ve come here 3 times now for major celebrations (valentines, Mother’s Day, and graduation). Each time it has been packed but the servers have all been amazing and the food was always perfect. Last time for my graduation we had a table of 16. Not only was our server Matt super nice, but nothing was wrong and we got all our food quickly. He was super attentive. I will always visit this when I am in the mood for a nice dinner.

Great little place with a large menu of American and Italian dishes. Nothing fancy but very nice people and good food and drinks

Very hot on the patio and too many bugs. Waitress brought oil lanterns for the bugs but they were empty. Food was okay, but the atmosphere just wasn't great. We ended up taking the food home just to get out of the sun.

Good food, especially the Corona wings were top notch. No sauce needed, totally delicious. Unfortunately, they weren't very busy, but the service was slower than a sloth. Took 45 minutes to get our food and no apologies from our waitress.

Best view, nice atmosphere and great food. I've always had a great time there! Great fish sandwich, amazing pizza. The service is always good.

We had our family of 9 and wanted to sit together. The manager yelled at us and said to leave. Never seen such a rude person in my life and made my 7 year old cry. No one Should EVER go to this place. Clearly small businesses are not ALL worried about staying in business

Decent food. The place needs new docks as it is becoming not worth it to boat here.

Went there for early dinner after day hiking Coopers Rock. Very friendly waitress who shared more about the local area. Outdoor seating overlooking lake was very nice. I liked my crab cake sandwich and the service was fast. Will make this our reg go to after our Coppers Rock visits.

On our way back to Texas from Erwin Pa. Happened upon this place,they had Fresh and I mean Fresh Blue tip oysters. My bro and I ate two plates each along with a beef sandwich on long role to die for. And fresh onion soup. Waitress was awsome and beer was ice cold. View from deck was great. Plan on stopping in again on our way back to Pa. When we go again.

Good prices, GREAT food. The steak sub with peppers dipped in the French onion soup is SOOOO good. Beer battered fries with the ranch is perfection. Find Abby and give her the largest tip, she’s knows her way around a bar.

We had a delicious meal here. Large portions and excellent service. We will certainly dine here again. The restaurant sits on the lake and the view from the deck is beautiful. There was a little wait to be seated. But the food is well worth the wait.

Great view and fantastic service!

Service was decent but sparce. Waitress came to table maybe twice to take order and give food. It was a slow afternoon with maybe 3 other tables max. Waiters at other tables were more frequent. Paid cash but waitress never brought back cash change ($5>)Food was decent but some dishes were bland. Couldnt say I'd recommend.

Absolutely the best fried fish sandwich we’ve ever had and the service was fantastic. My wife and I can’t wait to go back. The ducks in the inlet there also helped. My wife is pregnant, some women crave pickles or sweets, and then there’s my wife... who just wants to watch ducks. Checking boxes like crazy Lake House.

For being a small restaurant in Morgantown WV, the food is decent. Most of the food is ok and not that impressive. However, their wings are the best thing on their menu. As regular Sunday customers we usually order the Thai and BBQ flavored wings. They are the perfect texture and the right amount of sauce ---and they are award winning also :)

Crab cake sandwich was absolutely perfect! Service was great! Emma was awesome!

My husband's boss had their company Christmas dinner here. Nice place with great food. Down along Cheat Lake.

The place was busy but not Crowded. We ate outside on the Deck, with a beautiful view of Cheatlake. The waitress was very sweet and informative. The service was phenomenal and the Food was Delicious. Try the Spinach and Artichoke Dip and the Loaded baked potato soup. Awesome over all Experience!

The service was terrible. Food came out so slowly and the place was practically empty on a Tuesday night. Water glasses hold about 4 oz if there wasn’t ice in it and they couldn’t manage to bring you a big glass when your beverage is water. I tried so many times to catch someone to get a refill and they just run past, never checking in and avoiding eye contact. It took 2 hours to eat and we were a small party of 3.

This was adventure from the beginning. Exactly how my wife decided we should try this place is a mystery, but there we were on a rainy Friday night. The outside looked kind of ramshackle; the parking lot is barely graveled; there's only one handicapped parking spot... it didn't seem auspicious. Once the meal started coming, though, everything was great. They tout leisurely dining, which was true. There was a local band outside for a private party, though they often have music. Part of the other deck is open and part covered. My wife had stir-fry (a generous plateful) and I had a tuna steak. The dishes were tasty, the salads artistic but enjoyable, and the bread was good as well.It turned out to be a good experience, and we will definitely go back. A very pleasant surprise.

Scallops were cooked perfectly that my wife had and the lobster that I had was delicious.

My cousin come to town every fall and this place is a favorite. They love the place and I do too. The cost is average for a great food.
